This is why I’m planning to fully migrate to Linux after the end of life of windows 10 I’ve already tried and experimented with Linux and I gotta say it outclasses windows in pretty much everything

Why not develop one linux kernal and file system, and just have different UI flavors such as Mint, etc, that can be easily swapped out? Instead there is 3 different file systems, different kernels and compatibilities. That is just my opinion based on what I've learned so far. I have yet to actually install or use Linux, and frankly, I don't want to; but Microsoft is forcing our hands by being a bunch of greedy bastards on a power trip.

Yes, it will be disastrous for many millions of users. Many won't be able to afford a new computer, and will have to run unsupported Windows 10. Hackers will have a field day.

I think its the other way around. Workspaces has been available on linux since windows 7 era so technically windows virtual dekstop copied linux

Windows 11 was trash on my PC and I switched back to windows 10. This is gonna be a huge problem for me and may actually push me to linux.

I keep win10 on virtual machine on a linux mint install on my laptop. 1 or 2 tutorials can teach essentially anyone how to do it so you can have the best of both worlds. Windows for the things i need it for like ms office things and linux for everything else. Edit: on a desktop you could very well tweak the virtual machine with windows in a way that games will run just fine (unless they're really spec heavy titles like modern triple a games but really its mostly just ram and cpu usage that needs to dialled in a bit more for those to work).

I’m lucky. I started with CP/M moved on to DOS, Windows 1 an onwards. Used many other OS through the years on minicomputers and workstations. I’m heading toward 70yo, and have decided W10 is the last version of Windows I’ll be using. Sad, but W11 is hopeless, and the promised future of W12 is looking worse every day. Bye.

Only thing it's better at is crashing, bugs and huge security holes

I never used Microsoft operating systems as my main OS. But I used it as a secondary one in dual boot with Linux. Now, since I don't have any windows only software anymore (thanks to Valve for their work on proton!), I'll throw it off my system in 2025 and there will be no replacement.

I've downloaded it on my XP Professional old computer, Through the original Microsoft download link... It's so much better than the Luna!

I 100% agree that the end of support for windows 10 is problematic. Personally I have used windows since Windows 7 was still supported but now I have a bootable disc with Linux Mint on it because I don't want to get rid of my laptop that I've only had for a year

Linux is better than Windows 11 in all aspect.

Everyone on RUclips emphasizes Linux Mint so much. I don't care how stable it is, the cinnamon desktop environment is ugly. Normal people (who don't know about tech much) deserve a more polished and modern-looking desktop environment right out of the box so that they don't feel they are using OS from the 2000s.

even if my pc would support windows 11 i would probably not install it since it would become very slow since i use a old 2 tb harddrive and most of my pcs hardware is from the 2000s, and im speaking from experience since i installed windows 11 on my laptop and it became extremely slow so i don't im going to install windows 11 on my even older pc

I have been using Linux since the release of Windows 10 due to concerns about privacy issues. I am pleased that I made the decision to switch to Linux several years ago. My primary challenge now is finding affordable older laptops with compatible hardware that can effectively run Linux.
